The Seven Years War did not start out great for Great Britian. The British were aiming to claim the most possible land for power and for more room since the colonies were very overcrowded. The problem was that the French also wanted the land too. The British also had land grants from their monarchy so they expanded since also there were no boundries. The Indians ended up making an alliance with the French since they were both angry at the British. After the French had there forts built, the British tried to attack and take them over but ended up failing. Towards the end of the war, the British took over Fort Carillon [Ticonderoga] and started winning battles. The British also took over Quebec. The British won after over powering Spain and France. The things that made the British successful were that they never gave up, they learned from their mistakes, and they fought in a European way.

Savages may indeed be a formidable enemy to your raw American militia; but upon the king's regular and disciplined troops, Sir, it is impossible they should make an impression."
